Why was the resources box designed?

Jackie and Ruth are the founders of Happy Talking. They have many years of language teaching experience.  Both of them have taught EFL.  Jackie continues to teach French and Ruth teaches Spanish and English as a Foreign Language.

They realised that language teachers are spending lots of time making resources to engage their learners and they felt that it would be useful to have one box with everything in one place.  They wanted to create resources that would work from primary through to adult learning.  As the resources work for those learning English as a second or foreign language, they will be useful for speech therapists, home schoolers and learners with Special Educational Needs.

Background

Jackie has taught English in Italy and continues to teach French and has over 20 years’ experience as a teacher trainer working for colleges and universities.  Jackie has an MA in Education.  This experience has meant lots of observations and extensive understanding of what happens in the classroom.  This insight confirms that learners need to be engaged, active and to have fun.  Our kinaesthetic resources enable all of this.

Jackie has published with Cambridge University Press ‘French verb cards’ and ‘En avant avec les temps’.

Ruth has taught English and Spanish for many years in the UK and Spain and she runs Liberty Education, a tutoring business.  She is an advocate of interactive communication between learners to promote maximum learning. She has used all the activities in the Happy-Talking box with her students and has had very positive feedback.
